Coffee with Abercrombie & Fitch
When Abercrombie & Fitch asked me to select one of the activities that they promote in Chicago, I said yes please! What was the most appealing is that I got to pick an outfit specifically for the location, and since recently my resolution has been to dress appropriately for the place and the situation (I tend to overdress most of the time), I accepted the challenge.
The company sent me the list of places to choose from - including an arcade bar, a record shop, a nightclub. The campaign wasn't about just the product, it was about the experience you get while wearing the clothes. This inspired me to combine my two passions - finding new cute places in Chicago and dressing up. I picked a coffee shop called Star Lounge in Ukrainian village, because a lot of my friends are frequent visitors and it was easy to meet up with them in their neighborhood. Plus the little yard that they have in the back serves as the perfect backdrop for a photoshoot!
For those of you who know me it isn't a secret that I have a hard time with casual fashion. I went to Abercrombie store at Water Tower to see what I can come up with and was actually surprised to see that I can actually pull off a parka. I paired it with some ripped jeans and studded boots, just so I can satisfy my craving for a little extra and accessorize the outfit. And I felt super comfortable too!
If you live in Chicago, you know how people dress in certain neighborhoods and certain places. Wicker park and Ukrainian village is for sure hipster casual. Like an agent undercover, I looked around the lounge and felt like I did fit right in. Only my rose quartz diamond phone case was giving away my true nature of a serial over-dresser 😅
What place should I visit next and what outfit should I wear? Let's play!
