Make Life A Long Weekend
Happy Monday!
Honestly, I am tired of waiting for weekends and holidays. We hate Mondays, we wish happy half week on Wednesdays, Thursdays are super close to the weekend and people start slacking off, and then comes Friday - the relief everyone has been waiting for. The one day we can go out and not think about tomorrow, because we still have two days ahead. Saturdays are chill/do all the errands and then Sunday comes and serves you anxiety because Monday is only a few hours away.
What a vicious cycle. We have all these rules that are supposed to be good for everyone. Be responsible, go to bed early, wake up early, have fun and party at the end of the week. I was thinking why I, not having a regular schedule or a 9-5 job, am still constricted by the seven-day schedule. Even if my Mondays are what Fridays are for normal people and my nights are my mornings I still keep complaining about Mondays and go out on weekends. It's like that movie with Tom Cruise. What was the tagline? Live. Die. Repeat.
This scenario of a workweek is so deeply rooted in our lifestyles that we don't even question it anymore. I am not encouraging you to quit your day job or try to change the normal work hours of all establishments in the world, but be aware of the scenarios that you repeat weekly and change up the routine a bit. Go have a fancy date on Tuesday and have a mimosa dinner on Wednesday. Catch the sunset on a boat on Monday and take a trapeze class on Thursday. Make every day eventful. It won't take much effort. Time stretches when you spend it on quality things. The two hours you spend after work watching a TV show can be the two hours you will actually look back to because you spent them doing something new and fun.
I am making a fun schedule for May to see how I can change my habits and what activities can be fit into just one week. Any ideas what I should try to do?
